"Tic e le cose fantastice" is a very interesting store located in Trastevere, Roma. Trastevere is not just a  charming district, it is also somewhat of a silentbook-mecca, with both Tic and another great bookstore, Ottimomassimo, located just a two-minute walk apart.

Tic does not only sell children´s books, but also art prints and books for adults, mainly artist´s books. They have a very interesting selection of silentbooks, and a highly skilled staff who are very happy to help.

Because of the large selection of artbooks, you can find some real treats if you are interested in illustration and visual communication. One of my favourite finds is "Potente di Fuoco", a wonderful book by an artists who has reproduced his childhood drawings as an adult, and in the book shows them side by side. It has been so much fun to use in working with childrens drawings.  This store was also where I found "Codex Seraphinianus", Luigi Serafinis wordless enclycolpedia, a book that is hard to find in brick-and-mortar stores (and that, due to it´s size, is very expensive to ship from online stores).

When visiting Tic e le cose fantastique, make sure you have lots of time to go treasure hunting, as the name suggests, there are many "fantastic things" to be found!
