A small gem of a children´s bookstore located in Catania, Sicily. It is a little bit off the touristy track, but it is well worth the few extra minutes walk.
The store is tiny, but as with many small quality stores this only means you are saved from having to look through the mediocre, run-of-the-mill picturebooks and are instead directly introduced to the treasures. They have a decicated shelf for silentbooks*, and an exquisite selection of works by Katsumi Komagata, Bruno Munari and other great artists. There is also a shelf with vintage Italian children´s books that was very interesting to browse through.
The owner is super-sweet, knows her stuff and is very helpful, and has created a fun, colorful atmosphere. Make sure not to miss this one if you are visiting the East coast of Sicily!
*the reason why the silent book shelf is almost empty in the picture is that...well, I bought them all, they were too good to resist 😅
