Budapest is a beautiful city, so it should be no surprise that it comes with beautiful bookstores. But Pagony is truly wonderful - a large, gorgeous store filled with an abundance of both Hungarian and international children's books.
The store has a great selection of silent books, and a friendly and knowledgeable staff: When we asked about silent books, they could easily point out every single one in the store in a heartbeat.
If you have kids, you can bring them to Pagony and easily stay for several hours: This store has everything! Not only the great range of books, but also a wonderful playroom, a comfy sofa, a small artist gallery and a kafeteria. There are several Pagony stores in Budapest. We visited the one in Buda (right across the bridge from Pest), but were told that the other ones are just as nice. Not to be missed!
